USD FUEL, a coaching resource

Student staff supervisors and anyone else who coaches/mentors others, please check out USD FUEL. Born out of the work of the Student Staff Development group, USD Fuel is a resource to guide your developmental and performance-based conversations with our student employees. The four step process and examples will help create intentional and solution-based conversations with student employees. It also makes an ideal training tool to be used with students who supervise other students and would benefit from quick tips for holding a productive conversation with their peers.

USD FUEL, a coaching resource

Graduate Student Life would like to invite Masters and PhD students as well as professionals who identify as First Generation Students to the first "First-Generation Gathering & Dialogue" on Tuesday, February 23 at 6pm in Student Life Pavilion, rm 401. This is a new program intended to give first generation graduate students & staff an opportunity to meet and connect with others in the USD community. If you have any questions please contact Graduate Student Life at gradstudentlife@sandiego.edu.

Cascade Training

This is just a reminder that Student Affairs and the USD Web Team are hosting a special website management/maintenance training for Cascade users on March 22 at 9am. In this course, we will cover new website features, as well as referesher information on the Cascade website management platform. There will also be time for questions, if there are any outstanding items.

Second Year Graduate Student Spotlight

Each week we will be highlighting a different second year graduate assistant in an effort to help them network in the departmental and geographical areas they will be seeking a job in. Let’s help our outgoing graduate students make connections.

Emily Davis, Graduate Assistant for Student Activities (Torero Program Board)

Functional Areas of Interest: I am searching for a position that allows me to work with student leaders on campus (Residential Life, Campus Activities, Leadership Development, Involvement, in particular).

Location Preferences: The dream is to find a job in the Bay Area! However, I am focusing my search to all of California, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado.

Experience: I have experience in Student Activities, Residence Life, Health & Wellness Promotion, Student Success Coaching, International Study Abroad & Immersion, Orientation

Other Information: My passion lies in empowering future leaders and holistic student development. I have been so fortunate to have my life transformed by out-of-classroom experiences that I want to offer that for others in any way I can. My action research is rooted in positive psychology and strengths-based advising; I love to help students discover the power in their unique story and talents. I thrive in a collaborative team environment and am truly looking forward to transitioning into a full-time position next year.
