Pope Francis in the United States

In anticipation of Pope Francis' arrival in our country next week, we have created a special web site to serve as a resource for our university, offering information and resources related to the many developments that will be unfolding in the coming months. The site is now live and accessible at

The website includes information about a series of related campus events. You can also join us for a live viewing of Pope Francis' address to Congress on Thursday, September 24 at 9:15am in Hahn UC Forum A. This event is sponsored by the Center for Christian Spirituality.

Greater Than Yourself Retreat

The United Front Multicultural Center is currently recruiting students to attend the Greater Than Yourself (GTY) Retreat! The retreat will be in Pine Valley on September 25-27. Please encourage students who you either work with or advise to sign up. The deadline to apply has been extended to Friday, September 18th.

The annual Greater Than Yourself (GTY) Retreat is a free, two and a half day program bringing together a diverse set of students to explore personal awareness and identity, learn leadership concepts and strategies, and build campus relationships and alliances. Participants develop their knowledge of self and others, enhance their awareness of intergroup dynamics, and expand their "toolkits" of campus resources and involvement opportunities. Students return to campus relationships, organizations, and other involvements, with new knowledge to promote understanding and networks for action. The retreat is a great opportunity for students in your areas, as well as those new to USD, that might be seeking connections.
